getting up 2

From Friday Five:

1. Are you superstitious?
Yes, to a certain extent. A life of Catholicism, eccentric relatives and friends with satanist connections just seem to breed this in you.
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
There were tales of exorcisms at my old school during the boarding school days. And I have known people who have had their house "cleansed" and also people who have moved. Personally I decided against ever seeing someone again after a nightmare that I had (and embarrassingly enough I secreted garlic around my room). But then I had thought that they were evil before this. Oh and one night I was at a crossroad at midnight on a full moon and when I suddenly noticed this (with a bit of a "oh no") I saw a black cat cross my path which was being chased by a white cat. I looked ahead at this point and saw my boyfriend and my flatmate and kinda thought how similar they looked, really in sync if you know what I mean. A week later we broke up and they got together. Not that this really had anything to do with it - it was more like a premonition or illumination.
3. Believer or not, what's your favourite superstition?
I like the idea of talismans. I hate the black cat thing though' - on my way home at the top of the street there is a black cat and everyday it crosses my path. I am really starting to dislike that cat. It lies in wait for me I swear!
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
Yes I do. I don't think I'm lucky per say but I do go looking for it. Often when I most need something I will get it also. I don't really have any special thing but I may pray i.e. "Dear God!" in desperation. Not that I believe in this but as a comfort thing.
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
Yes, because of my fake birthdays I really got into it when I was younger. I still check everyday usually. When I was growing up I remember the Courier Mail's astrology guy had a real thing against Arians. Caitriona and I used to wonder who it was that he was so pissed off at - ex girlfriend perhaps. Everyday in that paper my horoscope was shit.
