Today is tube strike day. It hasn't turned out too bad. I was late for work but hey so was I every other day this week. I caught the ferry in from Blackfriars and it was a lovely way to start the day gazing at the Thames. I think I might head back the same way.
My parents arrived yesterday. I was meant to meet them at the airport but being the slack daughter that I am I slept in. Luckily I had my suspicions with regards to this and sensibly left it as a surprise so they were none the wiser. However I did sleep in and got into work quite late. I did tell them that I was meeting my folks so it was all cool.
It was great seeing them again but they look so much older now. I only saw them 1 1/2 years ago so I guess I just thought that they would look the same. Maybe it is seeing them over here that I am noticing things that may seem common place back home. Like sun spots. They have so many and I can already see them starting on my face. Mum has just a shocking haircut also. Much prefer the last one but what can you say? Your hair looks shit just doesn't seem to cut it. They brought heaps of little homesickness goodies so I have been gorging myself on the likes of minties, fantales, picnics, kool mints and violet crumbles. I'm wearing my bonds t-shirt and reading Cleo for the first time since I was about 16. Life is good. Can't wait till they come back on 21st.
Glastonbury was wonderful, I had the most wicked time. It felt very English to be standing in the rain watching bands. And it is so much fun sloshing through the mud in wellies. The atmosphere was just so chilled with everyone seeming to be on the same wavelength. I saw heaps of bands my favourites being The Chemical Brothers, Supergrass, Groove Armada, Scissor Sisters, Ben Harper and The Black Eyed Peas. Just the best festival ever.
I am however now very very tired.
