Well I`ve decided to take a slow boat to Iquitos tonight. Adrian was a bit too attentive last night for my liking so have decided that rather than start up some sort of Columbian fling to get outa town. That said had a great night listening to traditional Columbian music and drinking shots of this industrial strenght liquor (I think that he may have been trying to get me drunk but instead I drank him under the table ha ha ha - very satisfying!). That said he is a nice guy.
Sadly all the fast boats are fully booked until 21st and so it is the slow Peruvian one for me. I am a little nervous as the boat is not as fancy as the one from Manaus and the food is meant to be a lot worse. I saw one as we pulled into the habour and it sort of looked like it had be cobbled together from spare parts. But well what can you do. I am hoping I will also find someone who speaks english on this boat but am not holding my breath. Although in a "it`s a small world" type scenario I met a Colombian guy today who lives in Helensvale and is back for Christmas. Must check out the Latin American bars he told me have spung up on the Coast when I get home. I should be in Iquitos in 2 to 3 days. Wish me well!
